ABDURRAHMAN BIN AUF SELALU GAGAL JADI ORANG MISKIN Jika tiba-tiba kondisi ekonomi "down", saya selalu terhibur mengingat kisah bisnis Abdurrahman bin Auf, tentang investasinya membeli kurma busuk. Suatu ketika Rasulullah Saw berkata, Abdurrahman bin Auf r.a akan masuk surga terakhir karena terlalu kaya. Ini karena orang yang paling kaya akan dihisab paling lama. Maka mendengar ini, Abdul Rahman bin Auf r.a pun berfikir keras, bagaimana agar bisa kembali menjadi miskin supaya dapat masuk syurga lebih awal. Setelah Perang Tabuk, kurma di Madinah yang ditinggalkan sahabat menjadi busuk. Lalu harganya jatuh. Abdurrahman bin Auf r.a pun menjual semua hartanya, kemudian memborong semua kurma busuk milik sahabat r.hum tadi  dengan harga kurma bagus. Ijin share pengalaman dari teman yang sekarang bekerja di Chevron, California...* Bagus untuk anak - cucu kita: Jumat lalu kedua anak saya menerima Report Card dari sekolahnya Ronald Reagan Elementary School. Di Indonesia namanya rapot. Melihat keduanya dapat nilai-nilai yang sangat bagus sementara tidak tercantum info tentang rangking, saya tergoda bertanya ke salah satu gurunya. “Anak saya ranking berapa, Ms. Batey?”. “Kenapa anda orang Asia selalu nanya gitu?”, jawabnya. (Weleh, salah apa ane ya, batin saya.) “Anda sangat suka sekali berkompetisi. Di level anak anda, tidak ada rangking2an. Tidak ada kompetisi. Kami mengajari mereka tentang cooperation alias kerjasama. Mereka harus bisa bekerja dalam team work dan mereka harus bisa cepat bersosialisasi dan beradaptasi. Mereka harus punya banyak teman.
